Repeat Prescriptions

If you are on long-term medication you will be given a computerised prescription re-ordering slip. Please can you ensure that you use these slips every time you require a prescription.  This allows you to re-order medication without seeing the doctor every time, although you will need to have a Medication Review with a doctor once a year.

We accept prescription requests in the following ways – by hand, post, or via Patient Access, which you can sign up to access your medical record, order prescriptions or book appointments.

Repeat prescriptions are available for collection 72 hours after request as long as your medication does not need to be reauthorised by the doctor (excluding weekends and Bank holidays).  Occasionally this may take longer if the doctor needs to check that reviews and certain health checks have been carried out.

Prescriptions that are not on your computerised record

prescription re-ordering slip will take longer to process, the doctor may choose to refuse the prescription or request that you make an appointment to see a doctor before you can have this medication again.

WE REGRET WE ARE NOT ABLE TO ACCEPT TELEPHONE REQUESTS FOR PRESCRIPTIONS
