Patient On-Line

Patient Online gives patients the option to make appointments, order repeat prescriptions (‘transactional services’) and view their electronic medical record online, using their computer, tablet or smartphone rather than having to phone or visit their practice.

Online services will complement and not replace the existing ways patients access appointments, prescriptions and their records.

Most GP practices already have the facility to offer Online Access to records and transactional services for their patients, and the General Medical Service (GMS) Contract 2014/15 requires all general practices in England to offer Patient Online by the end of March 2015.

Appointments

We are live with On-line booking of appointments with the Doctors only.  Please note that if you are trying to book a cervical cytology appointment online you must only do so if you have received a letter of invitation from Primary Care Support England PCSE.

Prescriptions

We are live with requesting prescriptions via the Surgery Website or via Patient Access.

Medical Records

This goes live in April 2015 - the only items that are viewable in your medical records at this time are - current repeat medications, immunisations and allergies

Before giving access to any online service, NHS England recommends that the Surgery verifies the identity of the requestor and ensure they understand their role in keeping personal information secure.  Using a robust online registration process will save time later when more of the record becomes available to patients during 2015 – 2016
